A Sèvres style gilt metal mounted rectangular sewing box and cover
inset with bleu celeste ground rectangular panels, painted with alternate oval cartouches of 18th century figures at leisure in gardens, and bouquets of flowers, the top with figures, the reserve with gilt flowers and cell pattern sections in gilt bands and scrolls, the mounts cast in relief with scrolling foliage, each corner with winged putti, the velvet lined interior divided into compartments -- 17.5cm. X 23cm. X 18cm., late 19th century (panel at reverse broken to bottom right corner, some wear and firing faults)
