LATE SPEDOS VARIETY, EARLY CYCLADIC II, CIRCA 2500-2400 B.C.

The style of this large Late Spedos marble figure has much in common with the Naxos Museum Master. One of the characteristics of this Bronze Age sculptor is the omission of the mid-section. Also typical are the oval head with a small, high-placed nose, and thick forearms with the fingers incised. For the Naxos Museum Master, see pp. 81-83 in P.
