Lot Essay

To the best of our knowledge the present lot is fresh to the market. Reference 5496 was introduced to the market in platinum at BaselWorld 2011 and replaced the reference 5050, the first perpetual retrograde calendar produced in series. The watch impressed immediately with its signature combination of perpetual calendar, retrograde date display, silvered dial and 39.5 mm. case size in platinum (inspired by the famous 1930s Calatrava reference 96).
