1902-11 W600 Sporting Life Eddie Plank (Uniform, Type 4 mount) (SGC 5.5 EX+)
Exceedingly rare oversized cabinet card offers a classic bust image of Plank as taken by noted photographer Carl Horner. This highly desirable series of baseball cabinet cards was issued from 1902 to 1911 by the National Sporting Life Company. The set consists of more than 650 cards with the precise total remaining unknown, given they were both sold and issued as a redemption. Outstanding overall condition with only the slightest touch to corners noted. Plank firmly ranks among the greatest left-handed pitchers of all-time, and holds the collecting field distinction of appearing on some of the rarest and most sought after early 20th Century trading cards. The only example which SGC lists on their population report and PSA has likewise graded just a singular example: SGC 5.5 EX+
