THE SALVER WITH MARK OF JOHN PARKER AND EDWARD WAKELIN, LONDON, 1763; THE CHAMBER CANDLESTICKS WITH MARK OF RICHARD COOK, LONDON, 1802 AND 1804
The shaped circular salver on three scroll feet, with gadrooned border, engraved with a coat-of-arms within foliate cartouche, marked underneath, with scratch weight 34:4; the chamber candlesticks with gadrooned borders and plain scroll handle, the openwork stems with campana shaped sockets and one nozzle, the extinguishers with bud finial, engraved with differing crests on trays, one extinguisher and nozzle, marked on bases, nozzle, the 1802 example numbered No 16 and with scratchweight 10:1
the salver 12 ¾ in. (32.2 cm.) diameter; the chamber candlesticks 6 ½ in. (16.5 cm.) and 6 ¼ in. (16 cm.) diameter
51 oz. 18 dwt. (1,615 gr.)
The crest within a motto on the 1802 chamber candlesticks is that of North as borne by the Earls of Guilford.
The arms on the salver are those of Lawrence impaling Aislabie, for Captain William Lawrence (c.1723-1798), M.P. for Ripon from 1781 to 1798, and his wife Anna Sophia (1727-1802), daughter of William Aislabie of Studley Royal.
