A LARGE AND VERY RARE GREEN HARDSTONE 'DUCK AND LOTUS POD' CARVING
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
The group is carved in the form of a recumbent duck and its young, clasping a millet and lotus sprig in its beak. The crest and wings are embellished with archaistic motifs. The stone is of a mottled apple-green, pale grey and black tone. The associated cover is carved in the form of a duck and lotus pod.
