Ludovic Ballouard’s philosophy is to live for the present and his watches reflect this by only displaying the present hour with the same desire to present a more unusual way of reading time. On his patented jumping hour Half Time, the hour numerals are cut by two counter-rotating disks that only align correctly at 12 o’clock to display the current hour. The watch therefore has no hour hands. Retrograde minutes in the bottom half of the dial complete the displays. HISTORY OF THE BRAND
Since he was a child Ludovic Ballouard always had the desire to be independent in life. After watchmaking school, he worked in aeronautics for 10 years as an aircraft board instrument technician, then ten years in watchmaking, including 3 with Frank Muller and 7 with Francois Paul Journe. It was at the age of 39 and after working on the biggest existing complications such as the Grande Sonnerie by FPJ that he thought it was now time to take off on his own with his own ideas and in 2009 created his first complication the Upside Down, that is a hymn to optimism and it also reminds you that the present moment remains the most important thing to live. In 2012 created his 2nd complication Half Time, the inspiration came from Love… when two halves are found to form only one. Only the present moment has a meaning is the slogan brand.
