Original New York Yankees regular season program issued for a game played between the Washington Senators and New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Program was issued for the final regular season game played by Lou Gehrig before he removed himself from the lineup due to his worsening medical condition. The game played between the Senators and Yankees with Gehrig going 0 for 4 in a losing effort. The program remains very clean with minimal overall wear and is neatly scored in pencil. Light pencil notations on front cover "Single game" and "April 30, 1939". Because Gehrig did not announce this was his last game, the programs and related items very seldom become available with a small number entering the marketplace annually. The contest would be Gehrig's 2,130th consecutive game played and tragically the last of his storied career due to his subsequent diagnosis of the illness that now bears his name: EX-MT
