Lot Essay

Quintessential image of Cobb offering crisp registration and clarity set against the classic red background of the Cracker Jack series. No mentionable wear aside from the very slighest "touch" to the extreme of each corner (mentioned for accuracy). Among the finest condition examples known and one of just (127) which have been authenticated and assigned a numerical grade by PSA (there are only 15 graded higher without qualifier), a minescule number when considering the enormity of the player pictured and popularity of the set. Then in the heart of his now legendary career Cobb would claim his 9th consecutive batting title in 1915 (when he hit .369) and set a single season stolen base record which stood for nearly forty-seven years. One of Cobb's most classic playing career issues from a widely sought after set: PSA NM 7
