A famille rose oblong octagonal tureen and cover
with boar's head handles and leafy finial, painted and gilt with central coats of arms and floral garlands monogrammed 'CS' with the motto 'Sola Juvat Virtus' interspersed with scattered flowersprays within chain pattern borders -- 7½in. (19cm) wide; and four further tureen covers en suite monogrammed 'AS', Qianlong.
The arms are of the Hon. Charles Stewart, youngest brother of the 8th, 9th and 10th Lords Blantyre and of the Hon. Alexander Stewart, 3rd son of the 7th Lord Blantyre.
