Rectangular, with rounded corners, the upper part of the hinged cover en plein enamelled with a traveller on a road approaching a town, the lower part engraved with stylised scrolls, with a cabochon sapphire thumb-piece, interior gilt, marked inside cover and base with ‘K. Fabergé’ in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial Warrant, also with French import marks; in a fitted Hammer Galleries wooden case
