COSTA RICAN STONE FIGURE, ATLANTIC WATERSHED REGION

The anthropomorphic figure with splayed fingers flanking the long, hatched protruding tongue, the mouth drilled at the corners as well as the nostrils and eyes, with a striated coiffure; with faint remains of cinnabar, pierced through the neck.

Lot Essay

Statuette anthropomorphe avec quelques restes de cinabre et percée au travers du cou, dont le personnage a les doigts écartés le long du corps, une langue protubérante hachurée, une bouche percée aux angles tout comme le sont aussi ses narines et ses yeux, et portant une coiffure striée.
