Henriques & Henriques, Madeira Malvasia Reserva
Madeira
Bottled in 1927. Recorked in 1957. Recorked in 2015 by H&H. New neutral wax capsule. Remains of label only. Level: into-neck
Tasting note: At the Majestic Malvasia Tasting in NY. Bottled in 1964. Deep orange color.
Beautiful deep dark cacao nose, molasses, caramel, vanilla, very complex indescribable aromas, florals, Indian spices. Amazing nose. Sweet dried apricots. Layered intensity. Keeps you coming back.
Soft refined sweet taste, creamy, fudge tones, great balance. Taste start is nice friendly and pleasant but then the finish grabs you in a velvet grove and creamy amazing refined after taste. Fresh acidity still. Total pleasure. Amazing.
That same year. Fine cacao, sweet creamy, lovely complexity, Indian spices.
Fine sweetness of taste, some refined acidity, very good aftertaste. Not as breath taking as the bottle earlier in the year, needs time to open up. Strong attack of well-balanced fruit intensity and nice long after taste. Last tasted April 2015. Edwin Vos
