CHARLES DICKENS (1812-1870)
An unpublished one-page autograph letter of 6 lines, from Maidstone, 29th September 1847, to the Proprietor of the Bull Inn at Rochester reading: "Mr. Charles Dickens presents his compliments ... and begs to say that he wishes to have a sitting-room and three bedrooms prepared for him tomorrow ... also a comfortable dinner probably for five persons but certainly four, at 5 o'clock exactly. Mrs Dickens will arrive at about mid-day" (creased on folds).
