A 2-page letter signed: "Nelson & Bronte," addressed to the Captains of 'any of His Majesty's Ships or Vessels arriving from the Westward in search of the Squadron', from: " Victory at Sea," 22 December 1804, announcing that he is proceeding off Toulon to gather intelligence off the enemy and will be at the Madalena islands about the 7th of January, signed also at the foot by 3 captains acknowledging receipt of the letter (traces of guard, worn at centre fold).
