ARTHUR WELLESLEY, DUKE OF WELLINGTON (1769-1852)
A 2-page autograph letter, from Walmer Castle, Nov. 14th 1850, to Mr. Mackenzie, thanking him for sending him his notes and stating: "The Duke of Wellington ... will peruse with attention the pact enclosed with Mackenzie's note, but having the misfortune of being deaf, he will not engage to attend a publick Meeting." With original stamped addressed envelope laid down on the integral blank. Together with nine autograph letters, signed, including those by Thomas Hood, William Pitt, Sir T. Lawrence and Thomas Campbell. (10)
