Jardim do Mar, Sercial 1870
Madeira
Rebottled in 2017, new wax capsules three with A Madeira' seal, one with 'FMA' seal. Paper labels
Believed Vasconcelos.
Tasting note: Intense high toned nose with crème brulée and floral aromas. Nicely opening up after some time in the glass. Straw. At first smell the wine appeared a bit tired. Etheral.
Focused start of taste, fine, butter scotch but dry aromas in the mouth. Nice canteiro aged acidity on the finish. Very nice Sercial. Classic with tongue lingering taste. Strikingly butterscotch on the flavour. After half an hour, a more inviting nose of firestone, salty even, high toned still. Smokey tones. Fresh acidity. Glorious with time in the glass.
Most recently. Fudges, more temperate style. Good quality Sercial. In line with previous notes. Last tasted January 2020. Edwin Vos
