Rectangular, traditionally painted on metal, within a silver-gilt mount, enamelled overall with varicoloured scrolling foliate design, all within a twisted ropework border, with suspension loop and velvet backing, the metal panel inscribed in Russian on the reverse '[?] / St Simeon / Stylites / 1 September', marked on loop and lower edge with 'Khlebnikov' in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial Warrant; in a glazed wooden kyot
