designed by Gerald Summers, mid-1930's, for Makers of Simple Furniture, the rectangular top with rounded end and inset writing surface, above a bank of graduated drawers, on ebonised plinth base, the back formed from one sheet of curved plywood 52in. (132cm.) wide; and a cream-lacquered side chair, by Gerald Summers with rectangular curved back above circular drop-in seat, with deep apron, on square tapering legs
