Lot Essay

Despite never gaining mainstream acceptance, this unusual aluminum-bodied Talbo Blazing Fire has served Rodgers well over the years. "They are really good guitars. But they’re so peculiar, they’re so quirky, that I don’t think that they really ever caught on….[but] they’re hip!...it’s very resonant, and very sustain-y. It’s a great rock-and-roll guitar. The blazing fire’s a really good name for it....And performing, I mean, it really…if you’re into that thing, it’ll do that thing really well!"
