Lot Essay

This natural finish Alembic Orion was gifted to Rodgers from his best friend and musical partner Bernard Edwards. Rodgers said of the time in the mid-90s: "after I got sober, that’s when he and I got back together again. And you know, we were in different kinds of musical frame of mind, more experimental, and he knew that I really loved jazz so maybe we should do a jazzier fusion-esque type of thing because he was such a great player, like maybe we should an album where we are playing these types of guitars that everybody knows the fusion guys for. They’d never seen us doing it so maybe we should do it." The two continued to work and tour together for several more years before Edwards tragically passed away while touring in Japan with Rodgers in April of 1996.
