Elephant foot form, one side chased in high relief with a nude nymph bearing a berried laurel garland on the back of a mustachioed dolphin, the reverse with script monogram PB and dated Sept. 11th 1888, gilt interior, marked on underside and numbered 7363-5347

Lot Essay

A nearly identical two-handled cup was sold at Christie's, New York, 24 January 2020, lot 400. A further pitcher with nearly identical decoration of a mermaid on the back of a mustachioed dolphin was also sold at Christie's, New York, 18 January 2019, lot 850.
