The brush pot is well painted in bright tones of cobalt-blue with a continuous scene depicting an episode titled 'Three Visits to the Thatched Cottage' from the novel The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, where Liu Bei, accompanied by Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei, attempts to enlist the servces of the brilliant strategist Zhuge Liang.
