Lot Essay

Edgar Brandt and Georges Bastard created this vase for the Deluxe Staterooms on the S.S. Normandie. Two sizes were produced - a larger 13-inch model was for the Public Rooms while the smaller 10-inch models was used in the Delux Staterooms. Each is impressed with the CGT logo of the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, otherwise known as the French Line.
