QING DYNASTY, KANGXI PERIOD (1622-1722)

This subject matter is rare, although it is occasionally found on large vases and dishes from the Kangxi period. The size and form of this jar is also rare; see an example with different subject and a lion finial, from the Peter Ralli Collection, illustrated by E. Gorer and J.F.
