The rectangular box finely decorated in polychrome takamaki-e with itomari ball and pine needles on bamboo lid, exterior of box in shitan-nuri (imitation of zitan wood) with stimulated crack and repair, interior of box in dark olive ishime-nuri (imitation of stone); signed to interior of lid
