Lot Essay

The source for the elegant single-plane lattice design of the present lot is a vase-technique fragment published by Friedrich Sarre from his own collection, (F. Sarre and H. Trenkwald, Alt-Orientalische Teppiche: Herausgegeben Vom Österreichischen Museum Für Kunst Und Industrie, Vienna and Leipzig, 1928, pl.8).
