etching, circa 1507, on laid paper, watermark Escutcheon with Three Stars (similar to Piccard 160728; Augsburg, 1513), a very fine, early impression of the first state (of two), printing a little unevenly in the darkest areas, trimmed on, to or just inside the platemark on three sides, with thread margins in places, trimmed fractionally into the blank border below, in very good condition
