Lot Essay

A pair of Yongzheng-marked bowls in pale lavender blue is illustrated by R. Krahl in Chinese Ceramics from the Meiyintang Collection, vol 2, London, 1995, pp. 190-191, no. 839, where the author cites another pair from the Tianminlou Collection, illustrated in Chinese Porcelain: the S.C. Ko Tianminlou Collection, Hong Kong, 1987, no. 148. See, also, a slightly larger bowl in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, illustrated by R. Kerr in Chinese Ceramics: Porcelain of the Qing Dynasty, London, 1986, p. 45, pl. 20.
