A black and gold japanned Indiawork cabinet
decorated with panels of landscapes with figures, animals and buildings, within bands of scrolling foliage, the pedimented upper section with central drawer above a pair of doors enclosing an arrangement of ten drawers around a central cupboard, concealing numerous secret compartments, with carrying handles, English or Dutch, early 17th century -- 26½in. (67cm.) high, 22½in. (57.5cm.) wide
