Lot Essay

In the 1940s, Dale Nichols lived in a cabin in Moose Pass, Alaska, near Seward, and Amidst the Glaciers likely depicts a lake in that region of the Last Frontier. Depicting the awesome beauty of the snow-capped mountains and icy blue lakes of Alaska, the present work is a striking example of the artist's signature geometric realism.
