A Sassanian or Persian gold and pearl hoop earring
the tapered hoop with central swelling, on either side an extended gold wire suspending a pearl, one with two small granulated gold collars above, hoop forms hook and loop clasp, the single pearl possibly a replacement -- 1 1/8in. (3cm.) high, circa 5th-7th Century A.D.
