A prophet, lacquer on paper, wearing green robes, orange coat and turban with flaming halo, the bearded man holds out his hands slightly and looks to one side, dark green ground, gold and red ruled margins, on gold-sprinkled buff leaf with green border, verso with lines of calligraphy on red, Persia, 18th/19th century (light wear and surface scuffing, wear to edges of lead) - 15¾ x 10in. (40 x 25.4cm.); and Humayun, in a verdant meadow the ruler sits on a carpet with an attendant behind, inscription borders, on blue leaf with gold plants, probably Delhi, 19th century, verso with black nasta'liq calligraphy signed by Muhammad Salih b. Meskin Qalam, similar borders to recto - leaf 17 x 9½in. (43.2 x 24.2cm.)
