Lot Essay

Introduced in 2016 at Baselworld, reference 5230 is a desirable, contemporary iteration from the historic Patek Philippe World Time family. With a rich history spanning over 80 years, the present lot features an 18k white gold case measuring 38.5mm, a surprising 1mm decrease in size from its predecessor reference 5130. The dial exhibits grey guilloche at the center which has been meticulously handcrafted using a rose engine lathe. The exterior disk displays 24 cities which can be “jumped” using the pusher, making the timepiece an excellent companion for on-the-go travel.
