Lot Essay
The Patek Philippe reference 570 is one of the most beloved and collectible vintage Calatrava’s due to the timeless case size measuring 35mm. Over its 30-year production period beginning in 1938, the reference was manufactured in an assortment of case materials and dial configurations.
The present lot embodies Bauhaus design through its strive for perfection at functional minimalism. At first glance, the timepiece may seem like a simple time-only wristwatch. However, beauty is found within the details. A closer inspection of the dial reveals decagonal surfaced hour markers and engraved and filled white gold minute pearls. These hand-finished elements of the watch can only be appreciated when examined closely and epitomizes the charm of a vintage Patek Philippe wristwatch.
