Lot Essay

The display case with handwritten note reading, 'The contents of this case were found at Thebes and Bubastis (Egypt), and were brought from thence by E. H. Fison...'. The cases include a turquoise shabti for Hor; a blue faience shabti with painted wig, inscribed for a priest of Amun reading Amun-em-ipet; a bronze false beard; a bright blue faience shabti with painted wig, inscribed for Istem-Kheb and four strands of tubular faience beads terminating in a Four Sons of Horus Hapy-baboon amulet.
