MARK OF THOMAS HEMING, LONDON, 1750
Pear shaped on spreading foot cast and chased with three rococo cartouches framing garden scenes flanked by shells, the body chased with spiral and scroll flutes and inset with two cast Chinoiserie scenes of a lady with a parasol and another picking cacao beans, the spout with a gaping lion mouth forming a cartouche and a griffin head terminal, the wood handle with a boar's head upper socket and a spray of berried leaves at the base, the domed cover with flower spray finial and chained hinge peg, engraved on the spout with a crest, marked underneath and in cover
