Formed as a pilgrim's gourd, the baluster body decorated with three cartouches chased and engraved on a sablé ground with a seated pilgrim holding a gourd on a stick, a ship at sea and a shipwreck, divided by scrolling polished gold panels engraved with reeding, the upper baluster part chased with scallops on a matted ground, polished neck, the pierced gold stopper attached at the neck with a gold chain, marked underneath, on rim and finial
