Murder in the Mews and other stories
Agatha Christie
CHRISTIE, Agatha (1890-1976). Murder in the Mews and other stories. London: for The Crime Club by Collins, 1937.
Very rare presentation copy of the scarce first edition, inscribed by the author to her secretary, amanuensis and close friend Charlotte ‘Carlo’ Fisher: ‘To dear Carlo from Agatha Christie’. We are unable to trace any presentation copy in auction records. A wonderful copy of this collection of four Hercule Poirot stories. Hubin p. 80.
Octavo. 4 pages of publisher’s advertisements at end (a very little light spotting to preliminary and final leaves). Original orange cloth, spine lettered in black (lacking the dust-jacket, spine sunned and stained to head, edges lightly spotted, head of boards slightly dust-stained, spine ends slightly bumped with slight nick to head). Provenance: Charlotte ‘Carlo’ Fisher (1895-1976, secretary, amanuensis and close friend of Agatha Christie; presentation inscription by the author on front free endpaper, and with Fisher’s posthumous book label).
