A carved semi-circular shield with the Royal Coat of Arms surmounted by a crown and flanked by thistles and roses above a scroll base lettered 'GOD SAVE THE QUEEN', finished in 'gilt', blue and red with label attached to the inside inscribed in ink 'Coat of Arms used in the launching of all ships built at the Royal Dock Yard Devonport for a great many years Dec 1892 when a new ....... was appointed' -- 18 x 16in. (45.9 x 40.6cm.)
