Lot Essay

H.M.S. Marlborough, 3,500 tons, was one of the new type 23 frigates ordered in 1986. Laid down in December 1987, she was launched on 21 January 1989 but not completed until 1991. Dimensions are 436½ feet long with a 49 foot beam, and she is armed with Seawolf and Harpoon missiles.
