A fine late 19th Century boat builder's apprentice model of a Steam Tug with deck fittings including brass anchors, anchor davits, the working double winch with dog clutch, winding handles, foot brakes and chain locks, bollards, scuppers, companionway with sliding hatch and opening doors, deck light with dummy compass, working helm, panelled superstructure with opening doors, glazed portholes and navigation light boxes, funnel, engine room lights, tow hooks with locks, bitts, cleats, horse, planked and framed clinker built dinghy with bottom boards and thwarts in davits and other details. The hull, carved from solid pine is fitted with semi-circular riveted copper boiler, brass pipework and plug valves, double weight and lever safety valves, steam line and main stop to twin cylinder vertical reversing engine with mahogany clad brass cylinders approx 1¼in. bore, valve spindle tail shafts with studded stuffing boxes, Stephenson's link reverse and single shaft and four blade propellor, planked teak bulwarks with brass pins and mahogany capping, finished in black and polish -- 20½ x 61in.
