The live steam spirit fired Edwardian style river launch 'Royal Daisy' built circa 1925 by G. Ford, the hull with straight stem and counter stern carved from solid yellow pine with fittings including fore and aft lockers, fore and aft cockpits with thwarts, scribed decking and lagging, fore and aft jackstaffs, wheel and cruciform bollards and other details. Power plant details include riveted and soldered horizontal centre flue watertube boiler with superheater tube and fittings including water and pressure gauges, filler plug, safety, whistle and main stop valves and steam line to Stuart Star twin cylinder enclosed crank high speed engine with displacement lubricator, single shaft and two blade propellor, the rudder with tiller and screw adjustment. Additional details include dummy water tanks with vents, metal engine room floor and boiler casing and funnel with dummy safety valve extension pipe and whistle, finished in green, black (later) and white, varnish and polished brightwork -- 10 x 48in. (25.5 x 122cm.). Mounted on two bronze stands, display base and mahogany and bronze glazed case with photograph inscribed on the back 'Barry and District Power Boat Club Sunday 9th August 1925 Mr Ford on left of photograph'
