Handcrafted to the highest degree of German watchmaking, the present Glashütte Original Senator Chronometer Regulator reference 58-04-04-05-04 is an extremely lavish wristwatch with a plethora of unusual and functional complications. The 18k pink gold timepiece features a regulator dial, a creation first invented in the 18th century with the intent for greater legibility and precision when setting and reading a watch. Ingeniously, Glashütte Original has integrated a zero-reset seconds function along with a minute hand reset function, allowing the watch to be precisely set "on the dot" with '0' seconds for every minute. Further, when advancing the minute hand, it jumps by every minute for an exact time setting. If this was not impressive enough, the stately timepiece also has a big date, power reserve, and day/night indication.
On the rear, the 3/4 bridged 58 jewels in-house movement is on full display through a sapphire caesback, and features deep striping on the bridge, skeletonization and solarization in the winding wheels, and a hand engraved balance cock with swan neck regulation. Delivered 'full set' and from the original owner, this Glashütte Original timepiece is offered without reserve and presents as a wonderful opportunity for an astute and savvy collector to own a remarkable piece of German haute horology at a fraction of the original $31,600 price tag.
