A gilt brass striking strut clock, in the manner of Thomas Cole, retailed by M.F. Dent, No.1043, circa 1860, foliate and florally engraved silvered dial with Roman chapter ring and signed in a cartouche M.F. Dent, 33 Cockspur St. London, fleur-de-lys hands, 8-day two train movement with shaped plates, vertically mounted platform lever escapement with plain steel balance and striking the hours on a gong, multi-section engraved gilt brass case with swivel foot and strut support, numbered on the under side of the case, 18.5cm. 7½in. high, with velvet lined travelling case.
