Lot Essay

Guo Zongxi (1878-1934), also named Tong Bai, was born in Changsha and was a political figure during the Qing dynasty and the Republic period.
Tong Danian, (1873-1955), was a seal carver based in Shanghai. Known in particular for his seal script, he was a member of the Xiling Seal Society, one of China's most important stone seal engraving associations.
