Fishermen with their net by a rocky waterfall

Little is known of the artist J. Biron who signed this drawing. Other works by him, however, have recently appeared on the art market. Among these are a View of the Coupure, similar in scale and technique to the present drawing, signed and dated 1803 (Maison Jules Veilinghuis, Gent, 19 October, 2020), and a gouache with Angelica and Medoro carving their names on the tree that bears the date 1794 (Bukowskis, Helsinki, 18 March, 2022).
