Lot Essay

Compare the larger (11.7 cm.) jade vessel described as a cup and dated to the Jin-Yuan dynasty, 12th-14th century, which is flanked by chilong and also carved with clouds, formerly in the Florence and Herbert Irving Collection and now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, acc. no. 2015.500.5.7.
