EARLY 18TH CENTURY AND LATER
The later simulated marble top above three cupboard doors, concealing shelves, each decorated with rocaille escutcheons, borders and rocaille spandrels, the two side cupboards with figures of Selene, the central door with Euterpe and Zeus with a flaming urn, on a breakfront plinth, the sides with similar borders and central rosette, with chalk inventory mark 'D7650' to the rear, some mounts struck with the 'C' couronné poinçon, partially remounted and some reveneering

Lady Carmont; sold Christie's, London, 15 March 1984, lot 81A, where acquired by the present owner (when sold in 1984 it had a later superstructure, which was subsequently removed by the present owner and the simulated top added).
