Lot Essay

The highly prestigious no. 1 of a limited edition of only 10 pieces, this beguiling and stunningly attractive mixture of haute horology and artisan craftsmanship features a handmade enamel dial by master enameller Muriel Séchaud, one of the few artisans creating hand-painted enamel dials at the turn of the century for Vacheron Constantin using traditional techniques. The geometric design in blue and red takes its inspiration from Iznik ceramics of the Ottoman Empire, Muriel Séchaud has created the dial using the techniques of champlevé enamel and miniature painting.

Accompanied by the full set of accessories, the present watch is certainly one of the most beautiful and appealing designs so far seen on one of these unique and highly exclusive timepieces. As an undoubted masterwork of Vacheron Constantin’s Métiers d’Art Collection and as the first watch of the limited edition, it is a true prize for the collector.

The Métiers d'Art Collection demonstrates the highly exclusive craftsmanship and artisan techniques of Vacheron Constantin. Coupled with exquisite dials, Métiers d’Art watches are equipped with hand-engraved calibres and showcases a masterful demonstration of various craft expertises at Vacheron Constantin that have been passed on from generation to generation.
